The first thing to know when you want to login to a Brother printer is the password. And Brother Printers often come with a default login password.
There are three default login passwords for Brother printers:
i. initpass
ii. access
iii. An 8 digit character password located at the bottom or back of the printer and has “Pwd” before it.
How to Login To Brother Printer
To login to your Brother printer simply input “initpass” or “access” when your printer asks for a password. If any of these default passwords does not log you in, then check the body of your printer for the 8 digit character password and input it.
If your password is the 8 digit character password, then ensure you input the password just as it is written. This is because the password is very sensitive and will take note of the slightest of changes.
Brother also recommends that you change to a new and personal password after your first login to ensure proper security.
How to Change Login Password of Brother Printer – How to Login to Brother Printer
Do the following to change the login password of a Brother printer…
Step 1: Open the internet browser of the system to which your Brother printer is connected to.
Step 2: In the browser’s search bar, type “http://” followed by your printer’s IP address. For example, if your printer’s IP address is 123.168.7.9, then you will type in “http:// 123.168.7.9”
Step 3: There will be a log-in box on the screen, input your printer’s default password in this space.
Step 4: Now, click on the “Administrator” tab. If the “Administrator” tab is not there, then select “Login Password”.
Step 5: Next, type in your new password where you are told to “Enter New Password”. Afterward, type your new password again in the space for “Confirm New Password”.
Step 6: Finally, click “Submit”. Congratulations! You have successfully changed the login password of your Brother printer.
Note: Brother cannot help you recover your password if you lost it, so it is important that you do not. However, if you cannot remember your Brother printer login password, then you will need to reset the network card back to factory default to regain access to your machine.
