HP Printer Will Not Stay Connected to Wifi [Solved]

If your HP printer will not stay connected to Wi-Fi, then try the following solutions to fix it:

1. Ensure that your HP printer is directly connected to an electrical outlet

If you are asking “Why did my HP printer stop connecting to wifi?” then it could be because you connected your printer to indirect power sources such as a surge protector instead of an electrical outlet.

Such a power source might not be supplying enough power into your printer that is required for it to sustain the connection it has established with your Wi-Fi.

To fix this, simply unplug your printer’s power cable from such a power source and plug it directly into an electrical outlet.

2. Disable your computer’s Bluetooth as well as other interference

To disable the Bluetooth on your computer, do the following:

i. Move your mouse cursor to the bottom-right corner of your screen directly on the taskbar.

ii. Locate the icon for “Bluetooth”, then right-click on it.

iii. Click on “Open Settings”.

iv. When the window for settings comes up, locate the button under “Bluetooth”, and then toggle it to “Off”.

Another setting you need to disable is the IPV6 service in your HP printer. To do this, we recommend that you consult your user manual.

3. Disable your antivirus and firewall

The settings on your antivirus and firewall might be causing your HP printer to get disconnected from the Wi-Fi. Therefore, the best way to fix this is to disable the antivirus as well as firewall temporarily.

After you disable both programs, check if the issue is fixed. If it is, you might have to change the settings of both programs to allow your printer to stay connected to the Wi-Fi.

If disabling both programs doesn’t fix the issue, then you should try the next solution.

4. Run the SFC command on your computer to scan and also repair your PC’s system files
