Do the following solutions to fix your HP printer flashing orange light problem:

1. Do a Power Reset

How to do a Power Reset on an HP Printer

Do the following steps to power reset your HP printer to fix your HP printer flashing orange light issue:

Step 1: Take the ink or toner cartridges out of the printer.

Step 2: Ensure your printer is on, and then disconnect its power cable from the back of the machine.

Step 3: Also, disconnect any cable connected to your printer, like USB cables and so on.

Step 4: Let the printer stay this way for a couple of minutes.

Step 5: Press the power key and hold on to it for some seconds.

Step 6: Reconnect your power cord back to the printer. Ensure the cord is connected directly to a power outlet and not to a surge or extension socket.

Step 7: The printer should come on automatically. But if it does not, turn it on by yourself.

Step 8: Wait for some time for your printer to warm up and become idle. Now, check to see if the problem has been solved. If it hasn’t, proceed to the next solution.

2. Check your Cartridges

Remove the cartridges and see if anyone is faulty, leaking, or depleted. If this is the case, then you would have to replace the cartridge.

How to Replace HP Printer Ink Cartridge

Do the following to replace the ink cartridge on your HP printer to fix the HP printer flashing orange light problem:

Step 1: Switch on the machine if it isn’t already turned on.

Step 2:  Load paper into the paper tray.

Step 3: Open the cartridge access door, and wait for some time so the carriage can go to the printer’s center.

Step 4: Press the cartridge lightly so it would be released. Once it is released, pull it out from the slot.

Step 5: Get the new cartridge and remove it from its packaging.

Step 6: Remove the tape that is protecting the cartridge by pulling the pink tab on it. Make sure you don’t touch the ink nozzles and the contacts of the cartridge. Touching these parts can cause ink failure, poor electrical connections, and clogs.

Step 7: Put the new ink in the slot. Ensure it snaps correctly in place.

Step 8: If you have to change another ink, simply repeat steps 4-7.

How to Fix HP 940c Printer Flashing Orange Light

Your HP 940c printer may be flashing an orange light if it has a defective print head or the ink cartridge is bad.

Therefore, to solve the issue, follow the steps in the “How to Replace HP Printer Ink Cartridge” section of this article.

If the problem persists afterward, then the printhead may be defective. You would have to replace it in this case.

How to Replace HP Printer Printhead

Do the following to replace the printhead of your HP printer:

Step 1: Load paper in the paper tray and ensure the printer is switched on.

Step 2: Lift or open the printer’s cartridge door, then wait for some seconds for your carriage to go to the printer’s left side and become silent and idle.

Step 3: Lift the carriage’s latch handle.

Step 4: Remove the printhead by grasping the side and then lifting it towards you.

Step 5: Get your new printhead then remove it from its plastic packaging. Make sure you don’t touch the print head nozzles or electrical contacts.

Step 6: Insert your new printhead into the carriage. Simply hold it by the sides; the electrical contacts should be facing the printer’s rear.

Step 7: Lower the carriage’s latch handle carefully.

Step 8: HP advises that the cartridges that come with the printhead should be installed during its setup. This is to prevent startup failures.

Step 9: So, take out the cartridges from the plastic packaging. Insert the cartridges one after the other in their respective slots. Ensure you hear them lock in place.

Step 10: Close the printer’s cartridge door. Your printer should start the initialization process; this should take about 6 minutes. You may hear some noises during the process. Once the process is complete, your printer will automatically print the alignment page.

How to Fix HP Deskjet 2600 Printer Flashing Orange Light

Your HP 2600 printer will flash orange light if the carriage gets stalled. Do the following to solve this problem:

Step 1: Restart your printer.
