To fix the “HP printer fatal error during installation Windows 10” problem, refer to any of the sections below that correspond with the error shown on your Windows computer.

1. Error 1706, 1335, 1331, 1316, 1311, 1305, 1303, 1155, 0r 1068 Displays

Follow the steps below to resolve any of the above HP printer errors in windows 10 to allow the installation of your HP printer software:

Unregister the Windows Installer Service and then reregister it – Step 1

i. Search for “Run”, then from the search results, click on “Run”.

ii. In the open dialog box, type “msiexec / unreg”.

iii. Click on “OK”.

iv. Open “Run” again.

v. In the open dialog box, type “msiexec / regserver”.

vi. Click on “OK”.

Download your Printer Software – Step 2

i. Turn on your HP printer.

Uninstall your HP Printer Software – Step 3

i. Go to the file location where the installation software was saved on your computer in step 2 above.

ii. Double-click on the file to extract it. This will cause the screen to display “Welcome to HP!”

i. Search for “Run”, then from the results, click on “Run”.

ii. In the open dialog box, type in “regsvr32 C:\windows\system32\atl.dll”.

iii. Click on “OK”.

iv. Try installing the HP printer software.

If the error is not resolved, move to step 3 below.

Temporarily Allow Full Permissions for the Folder of your Computer’s Program Files – Step 3

i. Open “File Explorer” or “Windows Explorer”.

ii. Click on “C:” or you can click on the hard disk drive.
